Hormonal Health Conditions I Treat
PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)
PCOS impacts your confidence, drains your energy, affects your weight.
PCOS is often thought of as a hormonal condition, but at its core, it is a metabolic condition that also affects hormones. Insulin resistance is at the root of PCOS, and improving symptoms, such as jawline acne, irregular hair growth, missed or long periods, and weight loss resistance, requires addressing insulin resistance and blood sugar control.
PCOS isn’t one condition. There are different types of PCOS. Some women deal exclusively with missing periods and weight gain. Others deal with inflammation or stress-related changes. We identify your specific type through testing and clinical assessment. Then address root causes with nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle changes that support healthy cycles and hormone balance.
PMS and PMDD
PMS that feels unbearable. PMDD that impacts your ability to function for weeks each month.
These symptoms are rarely caused by just one factor. Severe cases often stem from a combination of low progesterone, high estrogen, blood sugar dysregulation, nervous system imbalance, chronic inflammation, and key nutrient deficiencies.
Treatment focuses on addressing these root causes through hormone-supportive nutrition, targeted supplementation, and effective stress management strategies.
Irregular or Absent Periods
Missing periods or cycles all over the place make it hard to plan your life.
Causes include low body weight, over-exercising, PCOS, thyroid problems, stress, or post-birth control syndrome. We identify what’s disrupting your cycle through assessment and blood work. Then restore healthy ovulation through nutrition and stress management.
Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
Heavy periods leave you anemic and exhausted. Planning your life around your cycle.
This happens for specific reasons. Fibroids, endometriosis, hormonal issues, thyroid problems, gut issues, poor liver function and nutrient deficiencies. We reduce blood loss by addressing the cause, restoring iron levels, and using targeted nutrition and herbal treatments.
Hormonal Acne
Breakouts that won’t respond to typical treatments. Cystic acne around your jawline that flares before your period.
Hormonal acne reflects internal imbalances. High male hormones from PCOS, inflammation, gut health, liver function, or insulin resistance. We address it through liver and gut support, reducing inflammation, and balancing blood sugar.

My Approach to Hormonal Health
Testing I Use
Blood work gives us clarity about what’s happening beneath your symptoms.
We test your blood sugar, thyroid function, hormone levels, inflammation markers, and nutrient status.
Not everyone needs extensive testing. Sometimes clinical assessment is enough. We discuss what makes sense for you.
Treatment Protocols
Your hormonal health plan is built for you specifically.
Strategic nutrition for your hormones. Blood sugar balance is critical for most hormonal issues. We balance it through proper meals, meal timing, and exercise that improves insulin sensitivity. For PCOS, targeted supplements support healthy cycles. For PMS and PMDD, nutrients like magnesium and B vitamins address deficiencies driving symptoms.
Liver support for healthy hormone metabolism. Your liver processes estrogen and other hormones. We support function through specific vegetables, adequate protein, and targeted nutrients.
Stress management matters more than most women realize. Chronic stress disrupts hormone balance and worsens PMS. Treatment includes nervous system support, stress-reducing herbs, and practical strategies.
Gut health impacts hormone metabolism. We support gut health to improve how your body processes hormones.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to stop taking birth control?
That’s your decision. I never ask patients to stop prescribed medications without their doctor’s approval.
Some women continue birth control while we work on foundational health. Others want to come off and regulate cycles naturally.
If you decide to stop, we create a plan to support your body through the transition. Post-birth control syndrome is real. Your hormones need support to restart.
What about hormone replacement?
For PCOS, PMS, or hormonal imbalances, we don’t use hormone replacement. We support your body’s natural hormone production and metabolism.
I've been told my hormones are normal but I still have symptoms. Can you help?
Absolutely. Standard hormone testing doesn’t always capture the full picture.
Conventional ranges are wide. Your hormones might be normal on paper but not optimal. Testing timing can miss fluctuations.
We look at patterns, symptoms, and how hormones relate. We consider metabolism, inflammation, stress, and nutrition.
Many women have been told their symptoms are “part of being a woman.” They’re not. Your symptoms point to specific imbalances we can address.
Can naturopathic treatment help if I have PCOS?
Yes, PCOS is one of my primary areas of focus.
Every case of PCOS is different. While many women with PCOS have insulin resistance, this isn’t true for everyone. Gut microbiome imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, chronic inflammation, poor liver function, nervous system dysregulation, and other hormonal shifts can all play a role in your symptoms.
We get a clearer understanding of what’s driving your PCOS through clinical assessment and targeted testing. From there, we build a protocol tailored to your specific root causes. This may include nutrition for insulin sensitivity, anti-inflammatory support, stress regulation, and evidence-based supplements.
Common outcomes include more regular cycles, clearer skin, better energy, and easier weight management.
What's different about your approach to PMS and PMDD?
I don’t just tell you to cycle sync your workouts or “eat more protein.” That’s not going to fix what’s actually going on.
PMS and PMDD are multifactorial conditions that require a cohesive, root-cause approach. We look at factors like the gut microbiome/estrobolome, neurotransmitter function, nervous system regulation, chronic inflammation, liver and hormone metabolism, and nutrient status.
When these systems are functioning properly, your hormones can signal the way they’re meant to—so you can feel like yourself all month long, not just during your follicular phase.
